Californians Could Play Prominent Role in Obama Administration

At least three from state could be considered

President-elect Barack Obama's list of possible appointees includes at least three Californians.

Laura Tyson is a professor at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. She could be a candidate for treasury secretary.

Mary Nichols, the chairwoman of the California Air Resources Board, could lead the Environmental Protection Agency.

Christopher Edley Junior, dean of UC Berkeley's Law School, could be in line for a high position in the Department of Justice and someday could be considered for the Supreme Court.

Edley was one of Obama's professors at Harvard Law School.
