Following a highway shooting that snarled traffic for nearly two hours, the California Highway Patrol on Friday announced the arrest of four people in connection with the bizarre daytime shooting.
The Castro Valley CHP tweeted out that the department had made the arrests, but no further information was immediately available.
Five to six shots were fired on the freeway on Thursday along westbound Interstate Highway 580 near the 164th Street exit in San Leandro, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At least one vehicle - a black SUV seen from NBC Bay Area's chopper - was struck in the shooting. Bullet holes could be seen on the vehicle's windshield and near the driver's side door.
No injuries were reported. The freeway was reopened by 5:45 p.m.
