Fremont police have closed Fremont Boulevard from Peralta Boulevard to Central Avenue while they negotiated with a man on top of a building Friday morning.
According to a statement issued online around 8:15 a.m., officers were on the roof of a theater with the man, trying to safely resolve the issue.
Drivers have been asked to take an alternate route until further notice.
At 8:38 a.m., Fremont police said "the male has been safely detained and we will now work to provide the help, resources and assistance he needs."
