Highway 17 Shut Down After Crash

The California Highway Patrol has reopened all of northbound state Highway 17 today after emergency crews blocked lanes at Summit Road in Santa Clara County near Los Gatos for more than an hour to rescue occupants of a Ford Explorer that drove over an embankment.

The CHP responded to a report of a vehicle off the roadway just north of a junction with Summit Road on the highway link between Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties at about 12:35 p.m., CHP Sgt. John Carman said.

Minor injuries were reported, Carman said.

A Sig-alert was issued at about 1:20 p.m. and canceled at 2:40 p.m.
