The largest book sale on the West Coast gets underway Wednesday at Fort Mason in San Francisco, according to the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library.
The 55th Annual Big Book Sale starts at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fort Mason's Festival Pavilion at 2 Marina Blvd. About 500,000 used books and other materials will be available for sale to benefit the San Francisco Public Library.
Booklovers of all ages are encouraged to attend. The sale ends Sunday, when everything will cost only $1.
