No Kidding! 39-Cent Gas In The North Bay

Seriously, 39 cents for a gallon of gas? That's how much some lucky drivers in the North Bay ended up paying last night according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

It happened at a '76' station in Roseland. A computer glitch changed the gas price to 39 cents. The news spread like wildfire. In no time there was a traffic jam and the line of cars was well into and down the street.

The Sonoma County Sheriff's office was called in for traffic control. One officer said the scene reminded him of the long gas lines in the 1970's.

As soon as the glitch was discovered, the station shutdown. There's no word on how many people cashed in before the closure.

According to AAA, the average cost of a gallon of gas is $3.41.
