A police shooting following a vehicle pursuit is under investigation in the North Bay.
The incident was reported around 3:15 p.m. Thursday when police in American Canyon attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation in the area of southbound Highway 29 and American Canyon Road. The driver did not stop for police, prompting a pursuit into neighboring Vallejo.
The chase ended when the driver drove into a fence in the area of Souza Way and Gateway Drive.
"Officers encountered one male suspect and shots were fired by an officer," police said in a statement.
The suspect was taken to a hospital. His condition was not known late Thursday.
A second male suspect was later found and taken into custody.
Police found two guns at the scene.
