Police on Friday shot and wounded a man suspected of killing his mother after the suspect threatened police with a knife, according to police.
Authorities said they first got a call of a stabbing at about 11 p.m. Friday night at an apartment in Marin City. Police arrived and said they found 44-year-old Rosa Aldana stabbed to death.
A short time later, authorities received a report of a man covered in blood getting on a bus in Marin headed for San Francisco.
Police stopped the bus in the Marina and shot the suspect after they said he threatened them with a knife.
The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Carlos Aldana.
