San Jose Man Who Allegedly Contacted Undercover Officer Posing as Teen Arrested

The San Jose Police Department's Internet Crimes Against Children/ Child Exploitation Detail task force arrested a man suspected to trying to meet up with who he thought was an underage girl for sex Tuesday night, police said Thursday.

Officers arrested 33-year-old Joe Nanez of San Jose on suspicion of sending harmful matter to a minor and attempting to meet a minor to commit lewd and lascivious acts, according to police.

Nanez allegedly contacted an undercover police officer who was posing as a 14-year-old girl on the internet and on Tuesday night he sent a sexually explicit image to the officer.

Later the same evening, Nanez arrived at a pre-designated location in San Jose where he believed he was going to meet up with the minor. He, however, was met by officers and they arrested him without incident.
