Two people suffered major injuries early Thursday after a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on northbound Highway 85 in the South Bay struck another vehicle, the California Highway Patrol said.
Both drivers were transported to a hospital with major injuries. A dog was also injured and handed over to animal control, officials said.
The wrong-way driver was a 62-year-old man in a Toyota Tacoma, and the other vehicle was a Honda CRV, the CHP said. The crash occurred near the Highway 17 interchange.
Lanes of northbound Highway 85 were closed early Thursday morning but have since reopened.
The incident remains under investigation. Nobody has yet been charged.
