Four members of the same family were found dead Monday in a home in North Fort Worth, police say.

Police confirmed to NBC 5 Tuesday morning that the deceased included an adult male and female and a young boy and girl. The relationships were not confirmed.

On Monday, officers arrived at a home in the 2000 block of Speckle Drive after someone called and requested police check on family. Police entered the home and found the bodies of four people inside, all dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Two sources familiar with the investigation said it appeared to be a triple murder-suicide, though they are still speaking with the person who called 911. Police said officers were not looking for any suspects and that the deaths appeared to be an isolated case.

At least two children under 5 years old were among the victims, according to two sources familiar with the investigation. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office will reveal the names and ages of the deceased once all family members have been notified.

"I didn't even know them, but I'm very upset about this," said neighbor Jo Ann Werner. "It's just not right. It's a tragedy for our community. West Fork Ranch has been a wonderful place to live the last five years we've been here. So I’m really shocked."

Neighbors said they often saw the children playing outside the house and couldn't recall seeing anything unusual there. One neighbor, Larry Kirkendoll, said he last saw the family Sunday evening.

The names, ages and manner of death have not been confirmed by investigators, nor are they saying how the four people were related.

"It's sad. It's sad," neighbor Claudia Robles said. "Because I don't think any situation that we, as adults, go through, our kids shouldn't have to pay for that. So, it's sad."

NBC 5 spoke with one relative by phone who said the family had been together for Easter over the weekend and everything seemed to be fine. They are now in deep shock and mourning.
