Report: Giants' Former No. 1 Prospect in Proposed Giancarlo Stanton Deal

Several Giants top prospects have been mention in reported trade proposals with the Marlins for reigning NL MVP Giancarlo Stanton.

But a new name emerged on Monday afternoon.

Infielder Christian Arroyo, who two years ago was the Giants' No. 1 rated prospect according to Baseball America, is reportedly in a proposed deal between the Giants and Marlins, according to SiriusXM radio host Craig Mish.

According to Mish, second basemen Joe Panik and Dee Gordon are not part of any proposed deal.

Other names that have been reportedly linked to a possible Stanton deal are RHP Tyler Beede, LF Chris Shaw, OF Heliot Ramos and C Aramis Garcia.

Arroyo broke through to the majors this past season, but struggled and was sent back to the minors. Hand injuries plagued him for the remainder of the 2017 season.

In 34 games for the Giants, Arroyo hit .192/.244/.304 with five doubles, three home runs and 14 RBI.

The Giants and Cardinals both reportedly have the "general framework" of a deal with the Marlins for Stanton. Both teams are now waiting on Stanton to waive his full no-trade clause.
