Klay Thompson Tells Steve Kerr He Plans to Play Saturday Vs. Lakers

After a one-game absence, Klay Thompson looks set to return to the Warriors lineup on Saturday.

Thompson told coach Steve Kerr he plans to play Saturday against the Los Angeles Lakers, Kerr revealed to reporters before the game.

Thompson missed Thursday's 113-104 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers with an illness. The Warriors struggled to contain Sixers point guard Ben Simmons, and made fewer than 30 percent of their 3-point shots in Thompson's absence.

The 28-year-old scored 44 points and made each of his first 10 3-pointers in the Warriors' blowout win over the Lakers on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. His presence will be a boost to the Warriors, especially with news that LeBron James will not play for the Lakers.
