Giants Shut Out, Swept by Rockies, Held to Just Three Runs in Series

BOX SCORE

The Giants were riding high into Colorado, but they were held to just three runs in the entire series as the Rockies completed the three-game sweep with a 1-0 win on Wednesday.

The only run of the game came on a Chris Iannetta solo home run in the bottom of the seventh off Andrew Suarez.

The Giants offense mustered just three hits against Rockies pitching.

According to Elias Sports (via Henry Schulman), the previous three-game for the Giants in Coors Field was seven runs.

Aside from the Iannetta home run, Suarez pitched well. In seven innings, he allowed five hits, one earned run, didn't walk a batter and struck out six.

Following the loss, the Giants will head home and open a four-game series against the Cardinals on Thursday night. Johnny Cueto is slated to return from the disabled list and start against St. Louis.
