Jon Gruden Always Has Been Intense, Old Eagles Training Camp Video Shows

It's no new revelation that Raiders coach Jon Gruden is an intense guy. Anyone who watches football knows that to be true.

Gruden's never lacked intensity on the gridiron, and this old video clip from 24 years ago proves how far back his fire goes.

The year was 1995 and Gruden had just become the Eagles' offensive coordinator at only 31 years old. In the clip, Gruden is working with quarterback Randall Cunningham, who was a three-time Pro Bowl quarterback at the time.

That season, however, Cunningham was reduced to more of a back up role. He played in only seven games, starting four. Quarterback Rodney Peete took and led the Eagles to the second round of the NFC playoffs.

Gruden lasted three seasons as the Eagles' offensive coordinator before being named Raiders head coach ahead of the 1998 season.

As he begins his second season running the Raiders yet again, Gruden will look to unlock more from quarterback Derek Carr. And, he won't shy away from getting intense while doing so.
