Another Monday, another unattributed blind quote about San Francisco 49ers coach Mike Singletary's impending doom attributed to an anonymous source that everyone just assumes is Jed York.
Not long after the 49ers' 23-20 loss to the previously-winless and still-pathetic Carolina Panthers, a report appeared on Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area indicating even more dissatisfaction among the Yorks at Singletary's 2010 coaching performance.
"John and Jed York privately expressed displeasure about the team's coaching to their 'inner circle,'" writes Comcast's Matt Maiocco.
"There were some grumbles from the owners about bad coaching," the anonymous party told Maiocco.
You can't fire him this week, Jed and
John York. He's in London and he needs a work visa to stay there.
For his own part, Samurai Mike thinks these 1-6 San Francisco 49ers can still make the playoffs.
"As far as our football team," coach Singletary
told NBC Sports, "There is no doubt in my mind. Somehow, some way, we will regroup, and we will keep fighting, and we're going to make a season of it. And I still believe we can go to the playoffs."
Coach, the phrase "no doubt in my mind" when combined with "somehow, some way" does not exactly inspire confidence.
