The Raiders announced that they have fired defensive coordinator Paul Guenther following their 44-27 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Indianapolis exposed several Raiders warts in their win at Allegiant Stadium, as the Colts put some serious distance between themselves and the Raiders if and when any playoff tiebreaker scenarios would arise.

Shortly after, Guenther was relieved of his duties.

The Raiders offense actually outgained the Colts in total yards, had more first downs and won the possession time column. But Vegas turned the ball over three times, and the Colts had no turnovers.

Defensively, the biggest blotch for the Raiders was allowing 212 rushing yards.

Feels a bit silly to be talking about the Raiders and a postseason berth following the last three weeks. Blowout loss to the Falcons. Hail Mary escape against the Jets. Blowout loss to the Colts.

But the Raiders (7-6) still are in the hunt with games against the Los Angeles Chargers, Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos remaining.
