After an impressive win in Game 1 against the Colorado Avalanche, the Sharks were tripped up in Game 2 when the Avs notched a 4-3 win at SAP Center.
The series now shifts to Colorado for a pivotal Game 3 of their second-round Stanley Cup Playoff series.
The Avalanche may have found the formula in Game 2, as head coach Jared Bednar reunited his top line and it paid big dividends.
For much of the season, Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog formed one of the best lines in the NHL. Bednar elected to break them up to give the rest of his lines some juice, but it appears putting the band back together might have been the right move.
As for the Sharks, they are projected to be without Joe Pavelski and Jonas Donskoi for the third straight game. But San Jose is no stranger to adversity, having come back from a 3-1 deficit to beat the Vegas Golden Knights in the first round.
