Stephen Curry Relives Scoring Career-high 54 Points at Madison Square Garden

There was a time when Steph Curry wasn't a household name.

That all changed on Feb. 27, 2013.

That night, Curry took his first major step towards NBA superstardom, scoring 54 points against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.

"Anytime you play in the Garden and you do something special, it kind of carries a little bit more weight," Curry said.

Curry scored his 54 points -- still a career-high -- on only 28 shot attempts. He became the first player in league history to score at least 50 points and also make at least 10 3-pointers in the same game.

Roughly two and a half years later, Curry took home the first of his two league MVP awards. In the time since his breakout at the Garden, Curry has been a member of three title teams.

Still, the way that memorable night ended still irks him to this day.

"Such a weird vibe because we lost," Curry said, "and I still can't get over that fact."
