Firefighters are battling a four-alarm fire that is burning at a lumber yard in Walnut Creek this afternoon, a Contra Costa County Fire
Protection District spokeswoman said.

The fire was reported at 1:44 p.m. at Piedmont Lumber, located at 2860 N. Main St, spokeswoman Emily Hopkins said.

About 20 engines have responded to the fire, which was still burning as of 3:30 p.m. The blaze has damaged the structure on the property as well as lumber in the yard, Hopkins said.

No injuries have been reported, she said.
