Andre Debose Looks Ready to go for Raiders

Recent video released of Debose doing agility drills indicates that dynamic return specialist has overcome Achilles' tendon injury

In the brief time he was healthy with the Raiders, during last year’s organized team activities, rookie kick returner and receiver Andre Debose looked like an exciting addition.

Jerry McDonald of the Bay Area News Group wrote in June of 2015 that Debose had shown “flashes of playmaking ability.”

But that was before Debose injured an Achilles’ tendon, sidelining him for his entire first season in the NFL.

The former Florida standout, a seventh-round draft choice was on injured reserve.

Many players – especially those that rely on speed, quickness and the ability to make quick cuts – don’t come back from Achilles’ injuries, but it appears that Debose is completely healthy again as the Raiders approach the start of their offseason program.

A video of Debose going through agility drills was released to Twitter this week, and Debose looks quick and nimble.

The Raiders would love to take a long look at Debose as a return specialist. If he’s good to go, he could provide a jolt to a return game that was inconsistent in 2015.

At Florida, Debose returned a school-record four kickoffs for touchdowns and as a senior was the Gators’ Most Valuable Special Teams Player.
