At-Risk Patient Missing from Santa Cruz Psychiatric Hospital

A resident of a psychiatric hospital in unincorporated Santa Cruz has been missing since last Thursday and may be at risk if not treated, according to the Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office.

Francisco Lopez, 24, was last seen at 10:30 p.m. Thursday at the 7th Avenue Center, a mental health facility at 1171 Seventh Ave., sheriff's Sgt. Kelly Kent said.

Lopez has medical issues and his life could be at risk if he does not receive the treatment he needs, deputies said.

He had relatives in the San Jose area and might try to return there, according to Kent.

When last seen, Lopez was wearing a hooded flannel jacket and khaki pants. He is described as a Hispanic man who is 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.

The sheriff's office is asking those who come in contact with him or have information about where he may be to call 831-471-1121.
