12:22 p.m.:

Like the others, HomePod claims to respect your privacy.

Says no recording until "Hey Siri."

Will price at $349.

Ships in December.

12:19 p.m.:

They call it "HomePod."

A speaker for your home.

Streaming your music from your devices to your speaker.

Siri built in, so they want it to be a home assistant, to take on Google & Amazon.

12:11 p.m.:

Finally ....

"Home speaker..."

12:03 p.m.:

OK.

They're demoing "Apple Pencil."

It's own demo.

Starting to feel like an episode of "Silicon Valley."

11:53 a.m.:

iPad Pro pricing:

(All starting with 64 gb of memory).

$649-1099

Orders start today; shipping starts next week.

11:46 a.m.:

iPad sales have been struggling for a long time, but ....

Weighs one pound.

Upgraded displays.

11:36 a.m.:

Apple just announced "AR Kit," a way for developers to built augmented reality into devices.

11:25 a.m.:

Now to apps:

Apple says it's paid $70 billion to app makers.

Also a re-design to the app store. Now, "games" has its own featured area.

11:21 a.m.:

Apple now claims 27 million paid Apple Music subscribers.

11:17 a.m.:

More slap with maps & navigation: tracking speed limit, how close you are to destination, etc.

Also, "do not disturb" while driving feature. So you won't be distracted by texts, notifications, etc.

Screen will go black.

11:15 a.m.:

Now updating the phone - no, not a new one yet. These are software updates.

New camera stuff, and lots about Siri.

More intuitive use of Siri when you text - digital assistant remembers things you've read.

May be awkward privacy-wise, but lots of users, I expect, will like this.

11:03 a.m.:

Apple Pay now available for person to person payments.

This may be what the digital payment world needs.

10:58 a.m.:

10:41 a.m.:

Good news for Mac Developers: Unreal Engine, Steam VR, and lots of graphic support coming to the new OS.

"High Sierra" available for developer beta today.

The rest of us get it this fall.

10:32 a.m.:

New Apple MacOS named "High Sierra."

Yep.

A feature? The new OS will block auto playing of music on the web.

This, as you can imagine, got a big cheer.

10:27 a.m.:

New ways to scroll through music while working out, and ways to track your health.

10:17 a.m.:

Apple CEO Tim Cook welcomes 5300 developers to the show.

First, updates Apple TV: now with Amazon streaming.

9:55 a.m.:

The entire San Jose Convention Center is full.

Haven't seen this for even the biggest South Bay conventions.

Good for local business: lots of colleagues and developers telling me they stayed/ate/ride-shared locally.

9:50 a.m.:

Good morning from inside Apple's annual WWDC.

This time, in downtown San Jose.

It's crowded, as always, but we're, listening to hipster music and speculating as to what we'll see.

Digital assistant?

New Mac?

Lots of software/app updates for sure, that's what really makes the developers salivate.

More to come.
