People living and working in the shadow of Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara are preparing for chaos come Super Bowl Sunday.

Staff members at Dona Maria Mexican Food on Tasman Drive said regular games at the stadium drive up business. The restaurant is expecting a big boost from the biggest game of the year.

"I think it's going to be really busy that day," said Marlem Hernandez with Dona Maria. "The whole week is going to be crazy."

The restaurant also is stocking up on drinks because it is unsure about the reliability of deliveries during Super Bowl week.

"That'll be our big thing," Hernandez said. "People want to pre-drink -- drinks in (the stadium) are expensive."

Businesses near Levi's Stadium are unsure about deliveries because part of Tasman Drive will be closed for more than a week starting Sunday.

The owner of Pho Khang said his customers drive and is worried the closure will steer business away. People who live nearby are also expecting heavy traffic.

Resident Mark Hoyt said he is planning to leave town for the big event.

"Go someplace else," Hoyt said of his plans. "Not as many people, not as much noise."

But not everyone can escape the crowds.

Romic Sevilla instead is planning ahead and plans to leave at least an hour in advance to get to his soccer game.

The Santa Clara Police Department has provided the following advisory regarding Super Bowl-related closures:

ROAD CLOSURE: Tasman Drive will be closed between Convention Center Way and Calle de Sol (late) Sunday, Jan. 31 to (approximately 4 p.m.) Tuesday, Feb. 9.

If the post event construction is completed earlier, the road closure will be opened accordingly.

Additional temporary road closures are anticipated on Sunday, Feb. 7. Details regarding the specific streets and anticipated times will be announced as the event nears. Residents are encouraged to sign-up for Nixle to receive messaging as it is available.

TRANSPORTATION: Light Rail service will continue to run on Tasman Drive through the evening commute on Friday, Feb. 5. Following the commute on Friday, the Light Rail will discontinue running on Tasman Drive in front of the stadium. For full details, refer to www.vta.org or www.vta.org/superbowlsun.

    • 2 – Right on Agnew, turn left on Lafayette Street and catch the trail north of Great America Way (but before Highway 237)

The San Tomas Aquino/Saratoga Creek Trail will be closed between Agnew Road and Tasman Drive (late) Sunday, Jan. 31 to (approximately 4 p.m.) Tuesday, Feb. 9.
