San Pablo Police Commander Arrested For DUI

An off-duty San Pablo police commander was arrested Sunday on suspicion of misdemeanor drunk driving and has been placed on leave pending an investigation, police said Tuesday.

David Marvin Krastof, 47, of Vallejo, was arrested at 11:48 p.m. Sunday in Lake County by the California Highway Patrol on suspicion of driving with a blood-alcohol level above .08 percent, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

Krastof is identified as a commander on the San Pablo Police Department's website. He has been placed on administrative leave and his peace officer powers are suspended pending an investigation, according to a statement released by police Chief Lisa Rosales.

"We expect all San Pablo police employees to comply with the law," Rosales said. "We are committed to holding San Pablo Police Department employees accountable for their actions, and will conduct a thorough personnel investigation."

Krastof is scheduled to appear in court on July 7, according to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
