Sunnyvale Police Make Arrest in Peacock Lounge Homicide

Sunnyvale police made an arrest in the weekend homicide at a popular night club.

Police said they arrest Steven Craig Bowie Jr. Tuesday night. He will be charged in the shooting death of a bouncer at the Peacock Lounge.

Bowie, 25, was arrested on suspicion of murder for the death of  David Lucero, a San Jose man employed as a bouncer at the lounge, police  spokesman Capt. David Pitts said.

Lucero was shot once outside the establishment at 102 E. Fremont  St., and a club patron was slightly wounded during the incident, Pitts said. "It appears to be a typical bar-type altercation," Pitts said.

Sunnyvale police said Bowie, 25, was arrested at his home in San Jose without incident.

The homicide is the first in Sunnyvale this year.
