Jared Vance says he regrets what he did and understands his actions hurt many people.

The 19-year-old played a role in defacing a war memorial in Danville in the summer of 2015.

Veterans who discovered the prank last year were outraged.

But now Vance got a second chance from the vets, who hope this teen and former Eagle Scout will not do anything else that forces a repeat apology.

The apology was set up through the District Attorney's Office.

Vance has paid a fine and said he is sorry. The vets accepted the teens apology.
