Two suspects with a loaded firearm were arrested after trying to evade officers Saturday in Richmond, police said.

Officers patrolling the city's Southern District Saturday saw a vehicle driving recklessly. When officers tried to conduct a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle allegedly disobeyed their orders.

According to police, the vehicle then stopped in a residential neighborhood and the occupants fled from the vehicle.

Officers established a search perimeter. With the help of K9 units, officers located the two suspects and took them into custody. During the search, one of the K9 units also found a loaded firearm.

No one was injured during this incident, police said.

Police encourage anyone to report suspicious vehicles or people by calling 911 or (510) 233-1214.
