Stanford Women Continue Quest

The Stanford Cardinal have a big date at the dance in San Antonio Texas today.  The Cardinals are  playing in the Final Four for the third year in a row.

The No. 1 seeded team made it to the pentacle of the NCAA tournament thanks to a last-second basket by Jeanette Pohlen.  Her buzzer beater put the team on top of Xavier 55-53.

Next up is the University of Oklahoma today at 4 p.m.  The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.

Stanford has faced Oklahoma six times and has walked away the winner four of them.  The teams haven't faced each other since March 2006.

This is the last chance at the dance for center Jayne Appel and guard Rosalyn Gold-Onwude, who graduate in May.

If the Cardinals win they will play for the national championship Tuesday against either University of Connecticut or Baylor University.
