Apple Sets Its Sight on FM

Killing off the compact disc was not good enough for Apple. And while the tech company reintroduces the world to LPs though its popular iTunes store, Apple is reportedly developing an FM tuner to add to toys like the iPhone.

The Silicon Valley Business Journal reported the tuner will be similar to the FM radio already in the new iPod Nanos.

But like most Apple features, the move is designed to generate more money for the company. Users of the FM tuner would be able purchase the song they are listening to directly from iTunes.

Both iPods and iPhones currently are able to ingest FM signals but the Business Times reported only the Nike+ system is currently using the feature.
