CULTURAL FILMS: The International Asian American Film Festival officially kicked off Thursday but with more than 100 movies scheduled to be shown over 10 days, its fashionable to be late. The nation's largest showcase of new Asian American artists and films has screenings spread out across the Bay Area, from San Francisco to San Jose so there is something for everyone.

WE'RE ALL IRISH: As long as Notre Dame is not winning any national championships, it's okay for everyone to be Irish once a year. Lucky for us converts there is no better place to show off our Irish pride than the 159th annual St. Patrick's Day Festival and Parade at Civic Center Plaza in San Francisco. The festivities kick off this Saturday at 10 a.m.

URBAN COWBOYS: The only type of cowboy that could pass muster in the City is one of the urban variety. That's why Joe Goldmark and the Seducers can get away with playing every second Sunday at the Riptide, 3639 Taraval in San Francisco for free.
