Two lanes of eastbound Interstate Highway 80 in Richmond were shut down after a man died Monday morning when his truck drifted off the road and crashed into the guardrail, according to California Highway Patrol.
CHP arrived at eastbound Highway 80 west of El Portal Drive after learning of a solo-vehicle collision there around 5 a.m. They discovered a truck had hit the guardrail and rolled down a dirt embankment.
The driver of the truck was pronounced dead on the scene, according to CHP.
