49ers Partner With Santa Clara High School For Leadership Institute

The San Francisco 49ers, Silicon Valley Education Foundation and Chevron announced Wednesday plans for a second Leadership Institute for South Bay students.

The new 49ers STEM Leadership Institute's Chevron STEMZONE at Santa Clara High School will provide resources to students nurturing talents in STEM fields, namely science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Promising students will be recruited for the program starting at the seventh grade level and given guidance all the way to a hopeful spot studying a STEM subject at a top-tier university.

The first STEMZONE opened at Cabrillo Middle School in 2014, thanks in part to a $1 million grant from the 49ers Foundation. Once they graduate, students from that program will be able to continue their work at Santa Clara High.
