Bay Area Revelations: America's Wine Country

In the next installment of our award-winning documentary, we explore why the Bay Area is one of the most famous wine regions in the world. Hear the untold stories of the winemakers and winegrowers that put the Bay Area on the wine map.

The mineral-rich soil, along with warm days and cool nights, makes the Bay Area the perfect palce to grow any kind of wine. Mother nature has also made it a struggle for the wine industry to survive with earthquakes, wildfires and a plague.

But, the Bay Area has overcome all those challenges and thrived. It is home to more than 1,000 wineries and some of the greatest wines on the planet. Wine country generates billions of dollars and millions of tourists come to visit every year.

Featured interviews include Warren Winiarski, the founder of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars, Rolando Herrera from Mi Sueno Winery, Bo Barrett from Chateau Montelena, Randall Grahm from Bonny Doon Vineyards, Carolyn Wente from Wente Vineyards, Dick Grace of Grace Family Vineyards and the family at Gundlach Bundschu.
