Officers at the Sunnyvale Department of Safety had a busy Thursday morning, chasing after home invasion suspects and following three others in a high-chase pursuit.

The home invasion was reported about midnight at the Wildwood Manor, at 220 N. Mathilda Ave. in Sunnyvale, said Capt. Craig Anderson, adding that a victim there was shot in the ear.

Then, an hour later, officers tried to stop a vehicle, that didn’t yield to them, police said, which led them on a chase along US Highway 101 toward San Jose, with the California Highway Patrol and San Jose police jumping in to help.

Officers took three people into custody, all of whom had outstanding warrants.

Anderson said it’s unclear if the incidents were related.
