    An Oakland native and NBA legend will visit an Oakland high school Thursday, officials with the Oakland Unified School District said.

    Gary Payton will visit his high school alma mater Skyline High School at 12250 Skyline Blvd. at 10 a.m. Thursday.

    While there, Payton and officials with the Oakland A's will make a donation to the school's baseball team at a gathering in the school's gym.

    Payton started his NBA career as a guard with the Seattle Supersonics. He won two Olympic gold medals and an NBA title with the Miami Heat in 2006.
