An all day search for a burglary suspect in a west Oakland neighborhood is now over.
The Oakland Police SWAT team along with hostage negotiators were called to a home at 12th and Mandella Parkway at 9:30 a.m.
Witnesses told police they saw a man with a gun breaking into the home.
Police blocked off the area so the SWAT could move in.
There was a stand off for seven hours.
Police even fired a round of bean bags that sounded like gunfire at one point in hopes of rousing the suspect.
At 4:45 p.m. police moved into the home and discovered no one was there. The burglary suspect is still on the loose.
