Thieves Break Into UPS Truck Parked Outside San Francisco Apple Store, Steal 300 iPhone Xs

The phones were valued at $370,000

In another brazen burglary in downtown San Francisco, suspects dressed in hooded sweatshirts snatched at least 300 iPhone Xs valued at $370,000 and made off with them, according to San Francisco police.

The smartphones β€” which launched to the general public Friday morning at $999 a piece β€” were stolen from a delivery truck parked in a loading dock at Stonestown Mall around 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, police spokesman Officer Robert Rueca said.

A white Dodge van was used in the burglary and anyone with information is asked to call police at (415) 575-4444.

The iPhone X is being touted by Apple as its hottest-selling smartphone ever, selling out within minutes online. Apple has billed the iPhone X as the β€œfuture of the smartphone.”

CNET reported those who ordered their iPhone Xs from the Stonestown Apple Store will still receive them on time.
