Police responded to reports of a firearm spotted near J.X. Wilson School near Santa Rosa on Monday -- and a gun they found.
A BB gun, that is.
The man was strolling in his yard with his BB gun on Monday morning when he was spotted by school "personnel" and a passing driver, according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

The gun looked real -- it "had a scope on it and everything," according to police.
The BB gun owner had been out shooting that morning at his home near the entrance to the elementary school -- but at gophers, the newspaper reported.
The school was about to go on lockdown when police informed them that there was no threat -- except to gophers.
