One person died early Thursday morning in a wrong-way, head-on crash on Highway 1 in Pacifica, according to the California Highway Patrol.
All southbound lanes of Highway 1 at Manor Drive were closed indefinitely because of the crash and ensuing investigation, the CHP said.
Traffic is being redirected at Highway 35, the CHP said.
At about 3:15 a.m., the CHP responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash involving a wrong-way driver on southbound Highway 1. A Dodge Charger collided head-on with a Mercedes SUV, the CHP said.
One of the drivers died at the scene. The other driver and a female passenger in one of the vehicles were taken to hospitals with unknown injuries, the CHP said.
There is no estimated time of reopening the roadway.
