San Francisco Muni is taking precautions in case rowdy 49ers fans cause trouble.
Muni said the preparations are all about safety. In the past, celebrating fans have climbed up on top of street cars and near wires, which are charged with electricity and create a public safety concern.
So, Muni is going to de-energize the wires and take its historic street cars on the F-Market line out of service all day Sunday.
Buses will run down Market Street instead. The same will be done on part of the N-Judah line along Judah Street in the Sunset where fans have been known to gather, and also climb on top of the light rail vehicles.

Also, the iconic cable car lines will be mostly out of service starting Sunday afternoon.
The California line will stop at 2 p.m., and the Powell-Hyde and Powell-Mason cable cars will run only between Fisherman’s Wharf and Chinatown starting at 4 p.m.

"If the celebrations do get out of hand, we can reroute around those situations, and we can de-energize those lines so there’s no danger to people who climb on, climb on board," San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency Media Relations Manager Paul Rose said.
Muni is also trying to protect its property. In 2012, San Francisco Giants fans vandalized buses and even set one on fire, after the team’s World Series victory.
This is not the first time Muni has taken such steps because of rowdy fans. Muni’s spokesman said the agency took similar steps in the last couple of years after big games.
