Fire crews are in "fire attack mode" this morning as a San Jose house fire has reached two-alarms, a San Jose fire captain said.
Firefighters were called at 3:38 a.m. about an attic fire at a two-story home on Greenleaf Lane at Yerba Buena Avenue. Crews arrived at 3:44 a.m., San Jose fire Capt. Rob Brown said.
Arriving firefighters found smoke coming from the top of the house and discovered a fully involved attic fire, Brown said. The residents were not home and nearby homes and structures are not threatened by the blaze, Brown said.
No evacuations have been made. As of 4:30 a.m. the fire was contained to the attic and crews were trying to protect the rest of the home, the captain said. "It looks like we're getting initial progress" but crews will be at the scene for the next few hours, Brown said.
