We visit ancient and dramatically beautiful rock outcropping in the rolling hills of eastern Contra Costa County…long used for shelter by Native People and now protected in perpetuity by the East Bay Regional Park District. We’ll search for mysterious and endangered animals surviving in remote pools of water that only form in the rocks during rainy winter seasons…and can then dry up and disappear for years during prolonged droughts.
