On Monday morning, Adam Silver voiced his feelings about the situation in Cleveland as it relates to the drama surrounding Kyrie Irving and LeBron James.
"I feel bad for whatever is going on in Cleveland, and I have no first-hand information. But I assume where there's smoke, there's fire," Silver said on The Rich Eisen Show.
"Brian Windhorst has sort of been cataloguing LeBron's career for a long time, and he usually has very accurate insights from that team."
On Wednesday afternoon, Cavs owner Dan Gilbert was asked about Silver's comments.
"I have that on my list -- my to-do list -- actually to talk to him about that," Gilbert said at the introductory press conference for new GM Koby Altman. "Which I will.
"He was just being empathetic with stuff that he's reading, but I agree that's a little bit unusual.
"He's a great commissioner by the way. I think he's doing an unbelievable job. I mean killing it. Like an A plus. Print that, too (laughter). Please."
