NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Raiders entered Sunday's game as the NFL's most productive offense. They had scored 63 points and 940 yards total offense over the first two games.
They didn't keep that pace in Sunday's 17-10 victory over the Tennessee Titans, a game where the offense struggled at times and was shut out in the second half.
They still totaled 368 yards, including 120 on the ground, but let significant opportunities pass.
In quarterback Derek Carr's eyes, that's not good enough.
"We were sloppy today," Carr said. "Did we win? Yes. Did we execute? Yes. Can we move the ball out of backed up situations when we had penalties? Yes. Did we do those things right? Yeah, but I hold us to a higher standard than that. I expect more, but we did enough to win."
Carr isn't just nitpicking. The Raiders were just 5-for-13 on third down, turned the ball over for the first time all year and couldn't complete longer drives in the second half to put the game away.

Receivers had issues with drops. There were five passes that should've been caught hit the ground, including bad ones from Clive Walford and Seth Roberts.
Roberts redeemed himself after a bad drop, connecting with Carr on a 19-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter.
Amari Cooper had a couple passes he couldn't secure all the way to the ground, but he wasn't worried about it.
"I've got to look it all the way through," Cooper said. "I actually have to tuck the ball. That's it. Those weren't drops. I caught it, I ran, one hit my knee and one guy hit me, so I have to tuck the ball. Easy to fix."
Carr was kicking himself for overthrowing Cooper in the fourth quarter, when he had a man beat racing for the end zone.
That contributed to the second-half shut out where the Raiders couldn't put points on the board.
"We're sitting there frustrated because we expect so much more," Carr said. "We expect execution all the time. In the NFL, it's not always going to be pretty. I thought we moved the ball well. We just didn't get enough points in the second half."
