Durant Takes in Raiders Home Game: ‘Atmosphere Was on Another Level'

Kevin Durant has found his groove with the Golden State Warriors, yet he is still learning plenty about his new Bay Area surroundings.

Before Sunday, he had never heard of the "Black Hole." Then he spent an afternoon at an Oakland Raiders game, where he witnessed all of the fans dressed in Silver and Black costumes. KD thinks it's great that people of all walks of life dress up and let loose for a Sunday.

"It was fun. That was a great football game," Durant said at Monday's shootaround ahead of a game with Atlanta. "I always want to try to get to as many stadiums as I can. And having an opportunity to go to Oakland to a Raider game was pretty dope, man. The crowd was amazing, the atmosphere was on another level."

While Durant didn't speak with anyone in the Black Hole, he quickly developed a respect for their loyal support of their team.

"That shows what sports does," Durant said. "It's an experience that gets you away from what your everyday life is. I think everybody deserves to enjoy that experience. You can't judge them by how they act on Sundays, but they get pretty rowdy I guess in the Black Hole. I didn't know they called it that 'til last night."
