Injury Report: Buckner Returns to Limited Work

SANTA CLARA – Rookie defensive lineman DeForest Buckner returned to limited practice Wednesday after missing last week’s game with a foot injury.

Cornerback Jimmie Ward is expected to miss at least another game with a right quadriceps strain. He did not practice, as the 49ers practiced to face the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Eight players on the 49ers saw limited practice time, including Buckner, who sustained his foot injury late in the 49ers’ loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Oct. 2. Buckner, whom the 49ers selected with the No. 7 overall pick, started the first four games of the season and was credited with 21 tackles.

Defensive lineman Glenn Dorsey (knee) and tight end Vance McDonald (hip) also took part in limited practice. McDonald has missed two games, while Dorsey was not available for the 49ers’ 33-21 loss to the Arizona Cardinals last week.
