Kevin Durant Invested in Postmates for Simple Reason, and Here's Why

Programming note: Watch the pregame edition of Warriors Outsiders on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. PT, streaming live on the MyTeams app.

You're probably familiar with Postmates -- "the food delivery, grocery delivery, whatever-you-can-think-of delivery service to bring what you crave right to your door."

You might even use Postmates all the time.

But did you know that back in June 2016, Kevin Durant and his agent/business partner, Rich Kleiman, invested in the company? How did that happen?

"I'm hungry one day, and Rich was like, 'Yeah, [this company will] bring you food from any restaurant.' I'm like, 'They've got an app like that? Can you call somebody up there?" KD explained to ESPN's Ramona Shelburne. "We need to get involved, because we use this s**t on a day-to-day basis.' "

If only it was that simple!

It was a very savvy business move by Durant and Kleiman because last month we learned the company is doing quite well.

Speaking of Thirty Five Ventures:

The company has 10 employees at the moment, but it is moving into a new office building in New York City as it continues what Durant insists is a careful expansion.

Hmmmmm. You haven't read anything about Durant and New York in the last couple of weeks, have you?

Just having some fun ...
