The A's are reportedly adding another bat to the lineup this offseason as the club has agreed to a deal with free-agent infielder Trevor Plouffe.
Plouffe, 30, has spent his whole seven-year MLB career with the Twins. He hit .260/.303/.420 with 12 home runs in 84 games during the 2016 season.
The veteran Plouffe can play a multitude of positions. Last season, Plouffe saw time at third and first base. He played 63 games at third base and 13 at first base while joining the lineup as a DH in seven.
Plouffe is a career .247/.308/.420 hitter and has totaled 96 home runs.
Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports was first to report the news.
