First Dog Bo's Portrait Out as Baseball Card

Bo Obama is a Portuguese water dog, but he doesn't know how to swim.

So it's only fitting that the presidential pooch has his own baseball card, even though he doesn't know how to hit a curveball.

That's right, the first dog's rookie card is now available, coinciding with the release of his official White House portrait.

The portrait on the South Lawn of the White House was released Friday via the administration's Flickr account and blog.

So what stats are listed on Bo's rookie card? Here's his bio at a glance:

Birth: Bo was born in the fall of 2008 in Texas
First Day at the White House: April 14, 2009
Hobbies: Playing on the White House lawn and going on walks with the Obama family
Goal as First Dog: Make friends with foreign dognitaries
Favorite exercise: Running (and then napping near the Obama girls)
Favorite food: Tomatoes -- or toys

Did you know?

• Bo’s name came from two different places: Mrs. Obama’s father’s nickname was “Diddley” and Malia and Sasha’s cousins have a cat named Bo – and another cat named Diddley.
• Bo was a gift to the Obama family from Sen. Ted Kennedy and his wife, Vicki.

The Bo baseball card won't be found in packs alongside Ryan Howard or Albert Pujols, but can be requested via Bo himself.  According to USA Today, you can send a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Bo and he'll send a card back. No autographs, though. Have you ever seen a water dog try to write? It's not pretty...
